Fort Robinson, near Crawford and Chadron Nebraska, is a retired military base with a long and colorful history. From the death of Crazy Horse to being a WWII canine training facility this installation was home for many soldiers and families for over 100 years.
Fort Robinson State Park now consists of over 22,00 acres of land, and is adjacent to both a Wildlife Area and Solider Creek National Forest. On these combined lands are found elk, deer, pronghorn antelope, buffalo, longhorn cattle, and bighorn sheep. I am currently working with Fort Robinson State Park to help in producing maps of their land, boundaries, and trails. This work involves several undergraduates. Base maps are primarily from the Nebraska Resource Commission. If you want to see examples of images we have made of Fort Robinson, please continue to one of the following pages. I have put the images on another page to speed download of this page. Please note, these pages may take several minutes to download if the connection is slow.
